Dakotaman organizers announced Tuesday afternoon that due to the massive amount of rain and subsequent flooding the Annual DAKOTAMAN Triathlon will be postponed until August 16.
Race founder and organizer Howard Bich discovered when going out for his regular swim at Lake Alvin water reached nearly up to the roof of the shelter on the beach. After a few different considerations (a duathlon or a change of venue), Bich and his staff opted to move the triathlon to the next available date of August 16. Water over the road and unstable roads make this decision a pretty easy one.
We look forward to seeing who shows up in August and how this decision will potentially thicken the field of talent.
